Rajasthan High Court commences e-Pay service for online payment of fine across all District Courts

Adding to the various online digital facilities being made available to advocates and litigants during COVID-19 lockdown, the Rajasthan High Court has now introduced e-Pay service for online payments of fines across all District Courts of Rajasthan. (Rajasthan High Court press note - online payment fine).The press note issued to this effect states that this facility for deposition of fine in Subordinate Courts can be availed from the E-Pay portal which is already being used to pay online Court fees. .This E-Pay portal has been directly integrated with eGRAS, the online receipt system developed by the State Government of Rajasthan. Hence, the fine deposited through the E-Pay portal will be directly transferred into revenue account of State Government, the note explains. .Fines may be paid online using Net Banking, Credit/Debit card or BHIM UPI. After the successful payment, a receipt containing all the particulars of payment can be downloaded from the E-Pay portal. .This receipt should be presented by the concerned party before Court as a proof of online payment of fine, the note states. .After starting the E-Pay portal, the services of online payment of Court Fees and fines can be availed 24x7 by any person. This facility is intended to ensure that the process of deposition of fine becomes transparent..The various practical difficulties and hassles associated with manual exchange of cash in Courts will be eliminated and the Courts will no longer have to engage in the manual maintenance of account books, the note states. .Account books can be prepared automatically without any manual errors, which will not only help litigants but also save the time of the Court staff. .A specialized weblink to access the facility of the E-Pay portal for online Court fees and fines is available on the website of Rajasthan High Court, along with detailed user manuals and a step-by-step guide illustrating the process on how to avail these facilities. .After the initiation of COVID-19 lockdown, the facility of online filing of fresh cases, applications and documents was initiated through email before the Rajasthan High Court and subordinate courts.
