Prof Srikrishna Deva Rao in line to be appointed new NLU Delhi Vice-Chancellor

Sources revealed that although official confirmation was awaited from the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court (the Chancellor of NLU Delhi), Prof Rao is likely to beat others to the post.

National Law University, Delhi is likely to appoint its former Registrar and current Vice-Chancellor of National Law University, Odisha Prof Srikrishna Deva Rao as its new Vice-Chancellor.

According to sources, the decision to appoint Prof Rao as the new VC was taken at a Governing Council meeting held today.

Sources revealed that although official confirmation was awaited from the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court (the Chancellor of NLU Delhi), Prof Rao is likely to beat others to the post.

Prof Rao succeeds Dr. Ranbir Singh, whose second term as VC of NLU Delhi came to an end today.

Prof Rao holds a Master’s degree in law from Kakatiya University, Warangal, a Master of Philosophy in Law degree from National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and a PhD from Delhi University.

He has taught at NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, and NLU Delhi itself, where he also served as Registrar till 2014. He was subsequently appointed as VC of NLU Odisha.
