[Lakhimpur Kheri case] Priyanka Gandhi not produced before magistrate after detention: Lawyers claim

The lawyers of Priyanka Gandhi have claimed that they are not being allowed to meet the detained Congress leader during her detention in relation to the Lakhimpuri Kheri case.."We are not being allowed to enter the guest house where she is detained. It's been more than eight hours but police is not allowing us," Advocates Shahab Ahmed and Varun Chopra, who came to meet her in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, told Bar & Bench..Gandhi was arrested at around 4 am in the morning of October 4 while she was traveling to Lakhimpur Kheri with four other persons, including two local Congress workers, Member of Parliament Deepinder Hooda and Sandeep Singh.The lawyers revealed that Gandhi has been detained for the last thirty six hours and has not been produced before a Magistrate."We are standing here since eight hours and police is not allowing us to go inside. We are here to meet Priyanka Gandhi, who has been illegally detained by the police authorities without any legal justification." said Ahmad.."I have myself seen a portion of a paper on social media in which they have named 11 people, 8 of whom were not even present at the time I was arrested. In fact, they have even named the two persons who brought my clothes from Lucknow on the 4th afternoon," reads a statement released by Gandhi. ."No security car or Congress workers other than the four persons accompanying me were with me," says Gandhi..According to a local order issued by the Magistrate, Gandhi has been charged under Section 151, Section 107 and Section 116 of the Indian Penal Code..Her lawyers have alleged that police officials have not yet handed over the copy of the First Information Report (FIR) under which she has been charged along with other Congress leaders. .With regard to the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Police has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni for murder in connection with Lakhimpur Kheri violence in which Mishra in his four-wheeler, had allegedly mowed down 8 people including farmers who were protesting against the three contentious Farm Laws..[Lakhimpur Kheri] UP Police registers FIR against Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni's son, Ashish Mishra for murder .The FIR has been lodged for offences under Sections 302 (murder), 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 279 (rash driving), 338 (grievous hurt), 304-A (death by negligence), 147 (rioting) and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
