The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a plea challenging the final answer key of the Delhi Judicial Service (DJS) preliminary exam for the year 2022 [Ananya Tyagi and ors vs Registrar-General, Delhi High Court, and ors]..A bench of Justices MR Shah and Aniruddha Bose was hearing an appeal against a judgment of the Delhi High Court which had earlier dismissed the petition challenging the answer key"Prepare for the next exam. The High Court has considered in detail all answers and issues. Sorry," the top court remarked while rejecting the plea.Through the DJS exam, judicial officers for courts in the national capital are selected.The appellants had submitted that they had objections to three answers listed in the answer key but the top court declined to interfere. .There has been frequent litigation surrounding DJS exam.In 2015, the Delhi High Court had held that answers to four questions in the Delhi Higher Judiciary Preliminary Examination exam were wrong. These included questions, with negative marking for incorrect answers, on who won an Oscar that year as well as if unitentionally killing someone in a wedding after firing a gun was murder or culpable homicide.In 2019, the High Court had directed its Registrar General to recompute and publish the updated results of the Delhi Judicial Service prelims.The Supreme Court in March this year had allowed candidates who qualified for the Delhi Judicial Service Examinations that were to be held in 2020 and 2021, to appear for this year's edition of the exam, provided they have not crossed the maximum age limit of 32 years.
