Patna HC invites views of Bar on applications by 117 lawyers seeking designation as Senior Advocate

The Patna High Court has invited suggestions from the Bar and other stakeholders on 117 applications put forth by lawyers seeking designation as Senior Advocate..A notification issued by the High Court on August 19 states that out of 127 initial applications and recommendations, 117 were found to be eligible for being considered at present. .Following a meeting of the Senior Designations Committee on August 16, stakeholders have been invited to. send in their suggestions, views and opinions on these applications within 30 days..The names of the 117 candidates seeking Senior designation are also listed in the notification..The notification states, .“Proposals/recommendations/applications were invited vide Court’s notice dated 01.07.2019 for being considered to be designated as a senior Advocate of this Court and in response thereto total 127 proposals/recommendations/applications were received out of which 117 applications have been found in order as per rule and rest names stood deferred. .Now, the Hon’ble Committee in its meeting dated 16.08.2019, have been pleased to direct the undersigned to obtain suggestions/views/opinions about the aforesaid 117 applicant advocates, whose names are mentioned below this notice, from the members of the Bar along with other stakeholders in writing having names and full address of the senders within 30 days from the date of publication of this notice.
