Parliament Winter Session will see Bills on Farm Acts repeal, CBI/ ED Directors' tenure, Crypto, IBC and more

The upcoming winter session of the parliament will in all likelihood turn out to be an eventful one with various key laws set to be introduced/ passed..The session will see the introduction of Farm Laws Repeal Bill, 2021 which will repeal the three contentious Farm Acts passed by the parliament last year. .Besides the repeal of Farm Laws, some of the other key legislations set to be introduced are as follows:- Central Vigilance Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2021 which enables extension of tenure of Director of Enforcement by five years;- Delhi Special Police Establishment (Amendment) Bill, 2021 which enables extension of tenure of CBI Director by five years;- Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021; - Insolvency and Bankruptcy (Second Amendment) Bill, 2021 which seeks to further strengthen and streamline the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016;- Cryptocurrency and Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill, 2021 which proposes to create a facilitative framework for creation of the official digital currency to be issued by the Reserve Bank of India. The Bill also seeks to prohibit all private cryptocurrencies in India, however, it allows for certain exceptions to promote the underlying technology of cryptocurrency and its uses;- High Court and Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Amendment Bill, 2021 which will amend the High Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1954 and the Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1958; - National Dental Commission Bill, 2021 which will set up a National Dental Commission and repeal the Dentists Act, 1948;- Emigration Bill, 2021 which will replace the Emigration Act, 1983 so as to establish a robust, transparent and comprehensive emigration management framework that facilitates safe and orderly migration;.[Read list of bills set to be introduced/ passed in parliament]
