Outlook Magazine and The Week have released their top law school rankings for 2015. These lists come a few weeks after India Today published its list of top 20 law schools, omitting universities like NUJS, NLIU and NLU Jodhpur in the process..The one thing common among all three lists is that NLSIU and NALSAR are in the first and second positions respectively..Outlook has ranked NUJS and NLIU in third and fourth places respectively, whereas ILS Pune is in fifth. Only three other NLUs make it to the top 20 – GNLU at sixth, NLU Delhi at eighth and HNLU at eleventh..Outlook has based these rankings on five criteria – selection process, academic excellence, personality development & individual interface, infrastructure and placement..The Week has placed Faculty of Law, Delhi University at third in its list of the top 35 law colleges. NLIU and NUJS are in fourth and fifth places respectively. This is the only list in which NLU Jodhpur finds mention – in sixth place..ILS, GNLU, Faculty of Law, Banaras University and GLC Mumbai all feature in the top ten. The new entrants to in the list are NLU Delhi (20), CNLU Patna (23), Institute of Law, Nirma University (28) and Indore Institute fo Law (35)..The Week has also released a list of top private law colleges around the country. ILS, Amity Law School, Noida and Symbiosis Law School are the top three out of the 14 in the list. The private law colleges list also mentions the Army Institute of Law, ranked fourth..When we compare the top ten of all three lists, the only common universities are NLSIU, NALSAR, ILS and GNLU. Quite surprisingly, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s New College in Pune makes it to two lists..The law colleges at Delhi University and Banaras Hindu University also feature in the top ten of two lists.
