The Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court Ajay Kumar Mittal on Thursday launched an “Online Certified Copying Software” at the Indore Bench of the High Court.
As per a press release issued by the Registrar General of the High Court, the launch of the software was conducted yesterday in the presence of Justice SC Sharma, Chairman of the Computer and e-Court committee and other Judges of the High Court and members of the Bar.
Litigants can now submit their request for certified copy of judgments through Online Mode accessing the High Court website. Following their request, the litigants will have a choice to get certified copies of judgments either at the counter of the High Court Copying Section or at their home by postal mode, the press release notes. A nominal charge would be deducted via Net Banking/Debit or Credit Card as per the respective rules in case the litigant wishes for the copy to be sent to their email address, the release adds.
The press release further adds that certified copies of judgments can be obtained thus regardless of Bench.
“The prominent features of the process is that now the Certified copy of Jabalpur and Gwalior can also be received at the counter of Copying Section of Indore Bench and Vice Versa.”
With this launch, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has become the first court in the country to provide online certified copies of judgments to lawyers and litigants, the press release informs.
However, it is clarified that the existing procedure of obtaining certified copies through Offline mode “shall continue as it is”.
The release also makes a reference to other e-facilities already available at the High Court, including facilities such as e-Paper Book, e-A. G. office and e-Advocate office and facilities to track the status of copying applications. As explained in the release,
“The facilities to track the Status of Copying Application filed at the counter of copying section through High Courts website, to send the SMS related to registration of application for certified copy at counter, to send the SMS on readiness/delivery of certified copies is already in existence in M.P. High Court at Jabalpur and its Benches at Indore and Gwalior.”
