Supreme Court issues notice in plea challenging 'one member one post' rule for Delhi bar bodies

The Delhi High Court had ruled that elections for all Delhi bar associations should be held simultaneously, and that no lawyer could contest for or hold two posts in different bar bodies.

The Supreme Court recently sought the response of the Bar Council of Delhi and various bar associations in the national capital in a plea challenging a directive that no candidate will be allowed to contest for two posts simultaneously in Bar elections.
