No information on animals belonging to circuses that close down; Delhi High Court summons Animal Welfare Board Secretary

The Bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Jasmeet Singh took exception to the fact that despite direction in August to file a status report in three weeks, the board was yet to file its response.

The Delhi High Court on Monday directed the Animal Welfare Board Secretary to be personally present in the court and explain the delay in providing information about the status of animals belonging to circuses which have closed down (People for The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) v UOI and Ors).
