In a meeting of the International Association of Universities (IAU) held in November in Bangkok, Dr. Ranbir Singh, the current vice chancellor of NLU- Delhi was elected as a full-time board member..The IAU, based in Paris, is the UNESCO based worldwide association of higher education institutions. It is the global equivalent of Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and Association of Indian Universities (AIU)..Until Recently, Dr. Singh was the President of AIU, and continues to be council member of ACU. Elected as a board member from Asia and South-Asia region, Dr. Singh will serve a period of four years in his personal capacity notwithstanding his position as the Vice-Chancellor of NLU, Delhi..The IAU liaisons with the national educational bodies across the globe, such as the AIU, to discuss policy matters with respect to higher education..Dr. Singh says,.“We will conduct programs in India as well, in collaboration with the IAU. This will allow us to get recognition at a global level, which will benefit NLU Delhi and other higher educational institutions in the country.”
