Students who wrote this year’s CLAT find themselves in an unenviable position yet again. This time, the issue is NLIU Bhopal’s arbitrary change in its intake after the second round of allotment..In an email to Bar & Bench, a group of students brought to light the difficulties they face as a result of this change. The students, who were domiciled in Madhya Pradesh, were allotted NLIU Bhopal in the first round, after which they locked their seats and paid the counselling fees. To their consternation, they found that they had randomly been allotted seats in HNLU Raipur after the second round of allotment..When they contacted the organizing university, RMLNLU, they were told that they had been mistakenly allotted seats in NLIU after the first round. On further enquiry, they came to know that NLIU had changed their state reservation policy without issuing prior notice..Up until a few days ago, the breakup of seats at NLIU Bhopal was 54 for general category and 54 for MP state domicile (along with 20 for Special Category). However, it has now been changed to 80 for general category and 28 for state domicile.
