Acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan inaugurated the sitting..Justice Radhakrishnan said that the laws and the people of the country are “working away from Constitutional goals”. He also touched upon the work pressure of judges saying that,.“Judges are expected to live like hermits and work like horses.”.NGT Chairperson Justice (Retd.) Swatanter Kumar spoke about the success of NGT in disposing of cases expeditiously..“NGT has met its desired object, of disposing cases expeditiously; 82 percent cases have been disposed in 6 months“, he said..Justice Kumar also said that the Tribunal refuses adjournments bluntly to meets its object and sought the co-operation of the Bar in this regard. He also said that it might not be possible for the circuit Bench to conduct sittings regularly to hear a handful of cases..“Today we have 10 cases, but it might not be possible to come here again and again for 10 cases, there should be sufficient work”, he said..President of High Court Advocates Association SU Nasser also spoke on the occasion. The circuit Bench will sit in the old building of the High Court to hear these 10 cases.
