Justice Nakka Balayogi withdraws resignation, will continue as Hyderabad High Court judge

Hyderabad High Court judge, Justice Nakka Balayogi has withdrawn his resignation. As per the notification on the website of Ministry of Law and Justice, the President has accepted the request for withdrawal of resignation.

Consequently, Justice Nakka Balayogi will continue in office as a judge of the Hyderabad High Court.

The Central government had earlier notified his resignation on December 3. The resignation was to take effect from December 15. The said notification now stands withdrawn.

Justice Balayogi was elevated as a permanent judge of the Hyderabad High Court in January last year. Following his BL in AU Law College, he enrolled as a member of the Andhra Pradesh Bar Council in 1980. He proceeded to join the office of late V Venkata Ramaiaiah, a former Advocate General for Andhra Pradesh. During his years of legal practice, Balayogi  appeared before the High Court and the Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal.

In 1985, he was appointed a Munsiff Magistrate, and thereafter promoted as a Principal District and Sessions Judge in 2010. He has also served as Chairman of an Industrial Tribunal between 2012 and 2013, Principal Special Judge for CBI cases from 2013 to 2015, and as Chief Judge of the City Civil Court at Hyderabad between 2015 and 2017.
