An undertrial lodged in Tihar jail has allegedly been given a burn imprint ‘Om’ on his back..The accused Nabbir @ Shabbir has alleged that the jail superintendent Rajesh Chauhan inflicted the burn injuries on him..A Delhi Court has now ordered an inquiry into the alleged incident while also ordering that Nabbir be removed from the supervision of Rajesh Chauhan..As per the order passed by Karkardoom court, the accused who is lodged in jail no 4 of Tihar jail had informed his family member of the torture in jail by superintendent Rajesh Chauhan. The family members had informed the accused’s counsel who in turn brought it to the Court’s notice. The accused showed the injury to the judge in the jail lockup and his photographs were taken by the accused’s counsel..The Court noted in its order that the allegations raised are of serious nature and require immediate intervention. It, therefore, issued notice to DGP, Prisoner Headquarter, Tihar Jail no. 4 to get the medical examination of the accused done.
