Midnight Hearing: Chief Judicial Magistrate recalls transit remand, Sudha Bharadwaj to remain under house arrest [Live Updates]

Lawyer and activist Sudha Bharadwaj, who is in the custody of Maharashtra Police, has been produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Faridabad for transit remand..Reports indicate that Bharadwaj is presently being held in a Toyota Innova stationed outside the house of the CJM in Sector 15A, Faridabad. The CJM has yet to hear the counsel. The CJM has gone to the residence of the District Judge for advice on the matter..Bharadwaj was taken into custody after a police team from Pune conducted a raid at her home in the early hours of Tuesday morning..Bharadwaj has been charged under Sections 153a, 505, 117 and 120 of the Indian Penal Code and several sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The police had seized all her electronic devices..Subsequently, a Habeas Corpus petition was filed in Punjab & Haryana High Court.
