Lodha’s Supreme Court gets new Rules; Summer vacations cut down to seven weeks, total holidays stays the same at 103 days a year

The Supreme Court of India shall now be governed by the Supreme Court Rules of 2013 following the notification of these Rules in the Gazette of India. These rules replace the earlier Supreme Court Rules of 1966, and shall come into force on August 19, 2014, just five weeks before Chief Justice Lodha retires.
