Woman claims her husband died after getting COVID-19 vaccine: Madras High Court directs autopsy in line with AEFI guidelines

The Bench of Justices MM Sundresh and S Ananthi was told that although the claim is only in the realm of suspicion, the authorities ought to have followed the applicable AEFI guidelines.

After a woman moved the Madras High Court claiming that her husband, a frontline worker, is suspected to have died after getting the COVID-19 vaccine, the High Court has ordered for the conduct of an autopsy following the Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) guidelines (Ambika v. Union of India and ors).
