The Central Government, Delhi Governement and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation today told the Delhi High Court that they would augment the efforts made by them towards rehabilitating the riots victims. (Shaikh Mujtaba Farooq vs UOI).The statement was made before a Division Bench of Justices Siddharth Mridul and Talwant Singh in a petition concerning the riots that broke out in the city last month. .As noted by the Court, these steps towards rehabilitating the victims of the riots would address the following issues:- Provisions of a Fire Engine, Ambulance and Mobile Toilets at the subject camps. -Maintenance and upkeep of cleanliness (including cleaning of the drains), hygiene and sanitation; and further enhancing essential public utilities, including provisions of beds. - Taking necessary steps to secure the health of the riot victims.- Ensuring the availability of the Counsellors for the riot victims.- Setting up of Three Additional Camps at Bapu Nagar - 25 Feet Road, Santosh Marriage Home- Mustafabad and Madrasa Babul Ulloom, Jafrabad. .The Petitioners were represented by Senior Advocates Colin Gonsalves, Salman Khurshid, Meeenakshi Arora. .Delhi Govt was represented by Standing Counsel (Crl) Rahul Mehra. .Standing Counsel Amit Mahajan appeared for UOI..
