UP Government withdraws demand for "exorbitant" personal bonds from farmers: Allahabad High Court cautions authorities while disposing of plea

The Court disposed of the case, while warning the District Magistrate, Sitapur and SDMs that they “should be cautious in passing orders” in any proceedings of such nature.

The Uttar Pradesh (UP) State authorities have dropped all demands made earlier for the payment of sums between Rs. 50,000 to Rs 10 lakh as personal bonds from farmers, the Allahabad High Court was informed on Tuesday after the Court had sought an explanation over the same recently (Arundhati Dhuru v. State Of UP & Others).
