Telangana High Court takes up 4,316 cases during COVID-19 Lockdown, disposes of 467 out of them

The High Court has also been hearing all pending admission matters dating from January 1.

The Telangana High Court has taken up 4,316 matters and has disposed of 467 matters out of them, in addition to interlocutory applications granting interim reliefs.

The High Court has been taking up judicial proceedings through video conferencing during the lockdown starting from March 23.

The Court has also been hearing urgent matters like bail applications, applications for suspension of sentence in Criminal Appeals and Revisions, interlocutory applications for interim reliefs, Writ Petitions pertaining to demolition, dispossession, Writs of Habeas Corpus, Preventive Detention and Public Interest Litigations.

Additionally, all the Benches of the High Court have been hearing pending Admission matters from January 1 and other old matters for hearing daily, with effect from April 20.
