The Telangana High on Thursday decided to revert to complete virtual hearing of cases in view of the COVID-19 situation. .A notification to that effect was issued by the Registrar General stating that all Benches will hear cases virtually with immediate effect as opposed to the present mode of physical as well as virtual hearing. ."Considering the current pandemic situation of Covid-19, in partial modification of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) dated February 18 and in super session of notification dated March 18, the High Court has decided to conduct the hearing of cases by all Benches virtually with immediate effect, instead of continuing the present practice of physical as well as virtual hearing of cases in High Court on rotation basis by Division Benches and Single Benches," the notification said. .The Delhi, Bombay and Orissa High Courts had recently switched to virtual hearings due to the spike in COVID-19 cases. The Delhi High Court will hold hearings via video conference till April 23. The Bombay High Court meanwhile decided to switch to virtual and hybrid mode of hearing cases except for criminal cases of extreme urgency.The Orissa High Court also reverted to complete virtual hearings from April 5. .[Read Notification]
