Survivor of sexual offence should be heard but no obligation in law to make her a party to proceedings: Delhi High Court

The Court also passed a series of directions for its registry to maintain confidentiality of the identity of sexual violence victims.

The Delhi High Court Wednesday held that though a survivor of sexual offence has the right to be heard in every criminal proceeding, there is no obligation to make such person a party to the criminal proceedings instituted either by the State or the accused.
