Supreme Court seeks response from Central government on plea to fill vacancies in Law Commission of India

The petition been filed by BJP leader and lawyer Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay said the cause of action arose on August 31, 2018 and is still continuing when the tenure of the 21st Law Commission ended.

The Supreme Court on Monday sought the response of the Central government on a plea to declare the Law Commission of India as a "statutory body" and appoint chairperson and members to the panel within a month.
