The Supreme Court of India has invited suggestions from stakeholders and duty-holders for a first-of-its-kind hackathon to refine and improve the existing processes of filing and listing of cases in the Court Registry..By a notification dated December 23, the top court has sought suggestions and innovative ideas from stakeholders for improving the system. .It has clarified that the suggestions and ideas have to be within the ambit of the Supreme Court Rules, 2013..The stakeholders that will participate in the event include members of the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association, law clerks-cum-research assistants, members of the Supreme Court e-committee and the Registry of the Supreme Court..Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud had directed that such an event be organised under the supervision of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, to identify innovative ideas and to explore practical propositions for refining and bringing in efficiency in the existing process followed by the Registry."This will be an event wherein duty holders, stakeholders and beneficiaries shall engage in collaborative brainstorming, with a goal to bring in evolution by inclusion of new methodology for upgrading the ecosystem by generating out-of-the-box open innovative ideas," a press release issued in this regard stated..After the responses are received, a screening-cum-selection committee will scrutinize and select the eighteen best suggestions and innovative ideas.These selected ideas will be presented on January 7,2023, before the committee and the judge in charge of the process..[Read notification]
