Supreme Court initiates suo motu case over delayed pension of former Bombay High Court staff members

The CJI was also informed that a former High Court employee had committed suicide due to mental stress, as a result of the delayed pension.

The Supreme Court on Monday registered suo motu proceedings after former employees of the Bombay High Court Registry wrote to Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud claiming that they had not received pensionary benefits even after three to seven years of retirement.
