The Supreme Court on Friday extended the tenure of members of National Judicial Pay Commission, retired Justices PV Reddy and R Basant till April 30, 2021..A Bench of Chief Justice of India SA Bobde, AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian further directed that the term of the deputation of the Member Secretary shall be extended upto April 30, 2021, so that he may attend the duties of the Commission..The extension was allowed after Amicus Curiae K Parameshwar had addressed a letter to the Supreme Court Secretary General pointing out that the Commission's term is due to end on March 31 and one more month would be needed by the Commission to submit a report regarding third term of reference.."We direct that the term of the members of the Commission i.e. Hon'ble Mr. Justice (Retd.) PV Reddy and Hon'ble Mr. Justice (Retd.) R Basant shall be extended upto April 30, 2021.
