The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of three Calcutta High Court judges..The following are the three judges who have been recommended for a transfer to different High Courts:Justice Shekhar B Saraf to Allahabad High Court;Justice Lapita Banerji to Punjab and Haryana High Court; andJustice Bibek Chaudhuri to Patna High Court..The Collegium proposed these transfers for the ‘better administration of justice’. Three Collegium statements to this effect were made public on August 10..The Collegium had proposed the transfers on August 3. The judges had, however, requested that the same be reconsidered .Justice Saraf had requested for a reconsideration of the proposed transfer. In alternative, he had requested to consider transferring him to Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore or Chandigarh.Justice Banerji conveyed her willingness for transfer to Punjab and Haryana High Court.
