Subsequent purchaser has no locus to challenge land acquisition proceedings: Supreme Court

The Court found that this issue was settled in the Supreme Court's decisions in the Shiv Kumar case (2019), the Godfrey Phillips case (2022), and the Pawan Kumar case (2022).

The Supreme Court on Monday held that in land acquisition proceedings, a subsequent purchaser has no locus to challenge such proceedings or lapse of acquisition under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013 (2013 Act) [Delhi Development Authority v. Manpreet Singh and Others].
