Siddaramaiah files appeal in Karnataka High Court against Governor’s sanction in MUDA scam

Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah has moved the Karnataka High Court challenging the single judge’s order that upheld the sanction granted by Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot to prosecute him in the case related to the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam.

In his appeal filed on October 23, Siddaramaiah has sought quashing of the order passed by Justice M Nagaprasanna on September 24 this year.

The Chief Minister has made the Governor’s office and complainants TJ Abraham, Snehamayi Krishna and SP Pradeep Kumar the respondents in the matter.

While the appeal has been numbered by the High Court Registry, it is yet to be taken up for hearing.

Last month, Justice Nagaprasanna had dismissed the plea filed by Siddaramaiah challenging the sanction granted by the Governor on the applications filed by the three complainants to file corruption cases against him over land that (MUDA) granted to his wife Parvathi.

Subsequently, the Karnataka Lokayukta had filed an FIR against Siddaramaiah and three others on charges of corruption, cheating and forgery in connection with the MUDA sites allotment.
