SC hears pleas challenging UGC Guidelines mandating final year University exams by September 30 [LIVE UPDATES]

The Supreme Court is hearing a batch of pleas challenging the UGC Guidelines mandating completion of final year exams by universities before Sept 30.

On July 30, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had informed the Supreme Court that it will not alter its July 6 guidelines mandating universities across India to conduct their final year examinations by September 2020

Referring to the UGC's resolute stance, the lead petitioner in the case before the Supreme Court has filed a rejoinder stating that the Commission has failed to take into account the worsening COVID-19 condition.
