Right to dignity extends even in death but that doesn't mean corpses can be buried on temple land: Madras High Court 

The Court was hearing a plea alleging that a plot of land belonging to Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy Temple in Thiruchendur district, was being used for "burials" and "other illegal activities" during night time.

The Madras High Court recently said that while the fundamental right to lead a life with dignity extends till the end of human life and includes right of a decent burial, it cannot be interpreted in such a manner so as to permit corpses to be buried on temple land [SP Narayanan v District Collector, Thoothukudi].
