Restrain WhatsApp from implementing new privacy policy: Central government to Delhi High Court

The government told that it was making the request in view of the fact that new privacy police violates Information Technology Rules of 2011 on five counts.

The Central government on Thursday told the Delhi High Court that WhatsApp's new privacy policy violates the Information Technology Rules of 2011 and the company may be restrained from implementing the new policy till the challenge to the validity of the policy is finally decided by the High Court (Dr. Seema Singh v. Union of India).
