The father of the 17-year-old boy who killed two people while driving a Porsche car at a high speed, has been granted bail on Friday by a Pune Court, TOI reported..The police had apprehended him on May 21 when he was trying to evade the cops and he was later booked for offences under Section 75 (wilful neglect of a child, or exposing a child to mental or physical illnesses) and Section 77 (supplying a child with intoxicating liquor or drugs) of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.Initially, he was remanded to 2-day police custody before being sent to judicial custody for 14 days.He has now been released on bail.Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court had on June 24, ordered the release of the minor boy from an observation home. Though the boy had been released by a Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) under parental monitoring soon after the accident, his bail was subsequently cancelled and he was sent to the observation home where he was placed under detention. The High Court observed that the custody order putting him in an observation home was illegal and issued without jurisdiction. Therefore, it directed that the teen be placed in custody of his paternal aunt..The minor has been booked for offences under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police had also arrested two doctors and a peon for allegedly manipulating the blood sample report of the minor, who was apparently drunk when he hit the bike on which the two victims were travelling.
