Premature release of convicts: Supreme Court issues contempt of court notice to UP DG of Prisons for non-compliance with orders

The order came from a bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud in a plea seeking contempt against Uttar Pradesh government officials for sitting on remission applications of the petitioners since August 2018.
