A petition has been filed before the Delhi High Court to stop all flying services of budget airline SpiceJet in view of the recent safety issues that the airline has encountered..The plea which is a public interest litigation (PIL) petition has been filed by a lawyer named Rahul Bhardwaj and his son Yugan Bhardwaj.It is listed for hearing before a division bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad..In his plea, Bhardwaj has argued that SpiceJet’s flights need to be stopped to prevent a big accident which can damage the life and property of many passengers.He said that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has not taken any action against the airline despite several incidents and narrow escapes. This amount to violation of right to life under Article 21 of the passengers..SpiceJet has been in the news lately after a series of mishaps hit the already cash-stripped airline.While one of its Delhi-Dubai flights had to land in Karachi because of a technical fault, another plane developed a crack in the windshield.
