Parliament passes Constitution (127th Amendment) Bill to empower States to identify SEBCs
The bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha today with nobody voting against it. The Lok Sabha had passed the bill earlier.
Parliament has passed the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty Seventh Amendment) Bill to enable States and Union Territories to identify Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) and include them in a list to be published under Article 342A (1), specifying SEBCs in relation to each State and Union Territory.
