Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, Sanjib Banerjee today extended an open invitation for parties to hold the Court accountable in case there is any delay in uploading court orders online. .This came after a State Counsel requested the Court to direct that an order passed this morning be uploaded by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. ."Why not this evening? This is an open invitation. If the order is not uploaded by the following working day, you can question us why it is not done", Chief Justice Banerjee responded. .He observed that orders should ordinarily be uploaded online by evening on the same day it is passed. However, at times, there may be corrections or revisions to be made which could delay the uploading of the order, he noted. In such cases, the orders would be uploaded by the next working day, he said. ."If it is not done by next working day, you can come and question us why it has not been done", the Chief Justice added. .The oral exchange took place towards the end of a hearing in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) moved against the pollution of the river Amaravati. .The Bench of Chief Justice Banerjee and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy today directed the State to constitute an expert body to examine ways in which the pollution of water bodies in Tamil Nadu can be tackled, whether by way of curbing the discharge of industrial effluents or relocating industries located close to flowing water bodies.
