No instance of Rohingyas being associated with ISIS, no cross-border threat: Kerala to Supreme Court

The Kerala government has informed the Supreme Court that none of the Rohingya refugees residing in the State have any association with the Islamic State or Caliphate (ISIS)..The government filed an application to this effect in response to a plea by BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay seeking directions to the Central and state governments to identify, detain and deport all illegal immigrants and infiltrators, including Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, within one year..The Kerala government has clarified that in the last five years, no case under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 was reported against illegal Bangladesh immigrants or Rohingyas in the State..Stating that "no cross-border threat existed in the state," the affidavit stated that in the last five years, out of 70 Bangladesh nationals arrested, 57 were deported to Bangladesh and the remaining 13 are undergoing legal proceedings. As per the Union Home Ministry's direction, the State has constituted a committee under the Chairmanship of the Home Secretary to detect foreigners who have been illegally overstaying in India since January 1, 2011, the apex court was told..The State further submitted that a large number of migrants hailing from West Bengal, Assam, Bihar and Jharkhand are in Kerala. Directions have been given to the officers concerned to curtail intrusion of illegal immigrants entering the State under the guise of being North Indian migrant labourers..The Karnataka government recently informed the top court that it has no immediate plan to deport the 72 Rohingyas living in Bengaluru.It later filed an affidavit stating that the State police is not housing any of them in any camp or detention centre and will scrupulously abide any orders passed by the Supreme Court in the matter..The petition filed through Advocates Ashwani Kumar Dubey and Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay also called for a direction to identify and invoke the National Security Act against government employees, police personnel and security forces, who have links with infiltration mafias and help Rohingyas-Bangladeshis to infiltrate into West Bengal.It was also prayed that disproportionate assets of such employees should be confiscated."Identify and invoke NSA against government employees, travel agents and other such people, who provides PAN, AADHAAR, Passport, Ration Card, Voter Card, Driving License to Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators; and confiscate their 100% disproportionate assets," the petition said..PIL in Supreme Court seeks directions to "detect, detain, deport Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators from West Bengal within 1 year"
