Advocate Singh has also claimed that Vinay has been suffering from anxiety and decreased sleep..Convict Vinay has exhausted all his legal remedies against death penalty..His petition challenging the rejection of his mercy petition by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind was dismissed by the Supreme Court on February 14..Even before the Supreme Court, Vinay had contended that he was suffering from “mental illness” and therefore, the death warrant could not be executed..The Court had, however, rejected the contention on the basis of the fact that he was regularly checked in Tihar and the Medical Officer In-Charge, Central Jail Hospital had issued a medical report stating that he was psychologically well adjusted and his general condition was stable.
