The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has suspended physical and hybrid hearing of cases until further orders. The decision was taken by the President of NCDRC, Justice RK Agrawal in view of recent surge in COVID-19 cases. .A notice to that effect was issued on Saturday by Joint Registrar of NCDRC, S Hanumantha Rao. ."Physical and hybrid hearing of cases before the National Commission shall remain suspended till further orders," the notice said. .Cases listed for physical hearing before various Benches of NCDRC from April 12, 2021 onwards shall be heard through video conference only, it added. .The Registry of NCDRC shall continue listing of cases through video conference in pursuance of requests received from lawyers/ litigants and the same shall be governed by the NCDRC notices of June 2020. .Public dealing shall remain suspended till further orders, the notice clarified. .[Read Notice]
