Munmun Dhamecha, one of the accused in the cruise ship drug case, has approached a Mumbai court seeking discharge from the cruise ship drug case, in which Aryan Khan, son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, was arrested..The case arose when a special team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 13 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of mephedrone MD, 21 grams of charas, 22 Pills of MDMA (Ecstasy) and ₹1,33,000 at the International Cruise Terminal, Green Gate Mumbai. After such seizure, the NCB had registered an FIR. Dhamecha was arrested on October 3, 2021 and got bail from the Bombay High Court on October 28, 2021..In the present petition filed through advocate Ali Kaashif Khan, Dhamecha claimed that after searching Dhamecha’s cabin room on the cruise ship, one transparent packet containing a black semi-solid substance was found kept on desk.Dhamecha contended that when she boarded the cruise, there was a proper screening and security check conducted, in which no incriminating substance was found in her possession. She further said that she was the only one from her cabin who had been detained despite nothing being found in her possession. She added that other people present in the cabin during the alleged recovery were let off. .Dhamecha has, therefore, pleaded for parity with Khan who was granted a clean chit by the NCB. “That in the case of Khan, who was arrested due to being in the company of co-accused Arbaaz Merchant, from whom a recovery of 0.6 grams of charas was made, Khan was discharged by NCB through their chargesheet,” the plea underscored.
