Third Acting President in three days: Manorama Kumari to take over as NCLT head tomorrow

Judicial member Manorama Kumari will take over as Acting President of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on Wednesday, the third person to occupy the post in as many days.

Kumari will have a tenure for four days from June 2 to June 5.

The appointment was made after judicial member Rajeswara Rao Vittanala demitted office on Tuesday after serving as Acting President for one day.

Vittanala came to occupy the post for one day after his predecessor BSV Prakash Kumar retired on May 31.

Kumar's retirement has, in fact, triggered a strange turn of events which will see the NCLT presidentship change hands five times in eleven days.

After, Kumari retires on June 5, R Varadharajan will succeed her and he will also have a short tenure lasting for three days from June 6 to June 9.

BP Mohan is then likely to succeed Varadharajan on June 10.
