Maharashtra local body polls: Supreme Court stays ordinance reserving 27% seats for OBCs

The Bench ruled that while the election process can proceed for other reserved seats, the State Election Commission shall not notify OBC reserved seats for any upcoming election until further orders.

The Supreme Court on Monday stayed the Maharashtra government's decision to bring in an ordinance for 27 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) without following a mandatory triple-test.
