Advocate General for Maharashtra Dr Birendra Saraf has been conferred a Minister of State (MoS) rank by the State Cabinet. .The same was notified by the Cabinet by way of a Government Resolution (GR) passed on Monday. .As per the GR, Saraf will be entitled to services and facilities as a minister as provided in the earlier GR of 2018. Some of the benefits he has been given are:₹3,000 monthly allowance for the residential telephone bill.Official vehicle (which costs upto ₹20 lakh) with a driver. He will not be entitled to use a red beacon and national flag on the vehicle. Official residence as granted to a MoS.Business class travel on official duty related to government including appearing before the Supreme Court, High Court and other judicial forums and tribunals..Saraf is the second Advocate General in the State to get an MoS rank from the State Cabinet.
