Maharashtra government has decided to provide post-retirement benefits and allowances to the judges of the Bombay High Court..The State will provide allowance for housekeeping, chauffeur as well as telephone expenses to retired Chief Justices and judges of Bombay High Court.The benefits would also extend to their surviving spouses. The allowance would be to the tune of ₹14,000 to hire one domestic help and a chauffeur and ₹6,000 for telephone expenses. .These allowances would be in addition to the retirement benefits which are granted by the Union Law Ministry. Those benefits include a pension amount, leave encashment, death-cum-retirement gratuity.
