The Kerala High Court today dismissed two bail applications moved by suspended Kerala CMO bureaucrat M Sivasankar while observing that there was material to indicate that he may have been aware of the alleged gold smuggling activities by Swapna Suresh (M Sivasankar v. State, M. Sivasankar v. Customs).

Justice Ashok Menon observed in one of his orders,

"There is clear indication that the applicant was very close to Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in this crime (the Kerala gold smuggling case)."
