Litigant cannot be permitted to browbeat Court by seeking Bench of its choice: Supreme Court rejects plea for recusal of Justice DY Chandrachud
The bench of Justices MR Shah and Dhananjaya Chandrachud noted that the fact that an earlier order had not been in favour of the applicant is not a ground for seeking recusal.
The Supreme Court on Friday emphasised that a "litigant cannot be permitted to browbeat the Court by seeking a Bench of its choice", while rejecting an application seeking the recusal of Justice DY Chandrachud, one of the judges hearing the matter.
