Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday emphasised the need to keep aside politics when it comes to working for the betterment of the judiciary..In this regard, Rijiju highlighted the work by ex Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and current Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in ensuring that the Aurangabad Bench of Bombay High Court got a new annexe building.“Politics is always there because it is the essence of a democracy but when it comes to judiciary, there is no politics.. My friend Devendra Fadnavis Ji laid the foundation for this building, today Uddhav Ji is part of the inauguration. We decided to sanction ₹9000 crore for the development of the infrastructure of the lower judiciary, to be pooled in together between Central and State government for the purpose of construction of 3800 Court halls and 4000 residential units for judicial officers in all districts and subordinate courts.”.In his brief address, the union minister also took a moment to appreciate the achievements of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the e-courts project spearheaded by Justices UU Lalit and DY Chandrachud respectively.“I was delighted in the last few months, the amount of efforts put by the (NALSA) team through legal services authorities to reach out to the nook and corner of the country and we are seeing how the legal aid and awareness is being created. The only issue is what Justice UU Lalit had mentioned, the legal services to needy people should not be a poor service, it was to be a quality legal service.
