Language cannot be connected to any religion; Urdu can be taught even in areas where there are few Muslims: Allahabad High Court

In a secular State it would prima facie not be open to frame a policy to discontinue services of a Urdu teacher only because Muslim population is less, the Court observed.

Urdu as a language can be taught even in areas where there are less Muslims and it would not be open to the government to discontinue services of a Urdu teacher only because Muslim population in the concerned areas is less, the Allahabad High Court recently opined (Sanover v. State of Uttar Pradesh).
